Caerphilly MP to raise energy price concerns with Government after gym visit

Oct 20, 2025

The Member of Parliament for Caerphilly, Chris Evans, is raising energy price concerns with the Government after a visit to the Team Rees Gym in Caerphilly.

Richard Rees, who together with his brothers run the gym several other successful businesses in Caerphilly including Rositas Cafe and the Ten Degrees Restaurant, gave Mr Evans a tour of the popular gym and told him about some of the challenges involved.

Mr Evans agreed to write to the Government about high energy prices, which are a substantial cost for the business and many others across Caerphilly.

Mr Evans said: “The Team Rees Gym in Caerphilly is a fantastic local business and it was very pleasing to be able to have a look around and hear about how well things have been going.

“There are many successful and growing businesses in Caerphilly, and several are independently owned by local people. I look forward to visiting many more over the coming months and years as the local Member of Parliament.

“Energy is a big cost for many businesses like the Team Rees Gym and people across Caerphilly, which is why I am raising these concerns about energy prices with the Government.”

Anyone who would like to suggest another business within the Caerphilly constituency that Mr. Evans could visit should email chris.evans.mp@parliament.uk, or call his office on 01495 231 990.
