Caerphilly MP plants remembrance stake at parliamentary Garden of Remembrance

Nov 6, 2024

Chris Evans MP spent time in the parliamentary Garden of Remembrance, and planted a remembrance stake, on Wednesday in memory of veterans from Caerphilly, ahead of this year’s Remembrance Sunday on 10 December.

Mr Evans will attend remembrance services in the Caerphilly constituency over the coming weekend.

He said:

‘It is vital that we remember the horrors of war, and that we pay tribute to members of our armed forces, both past and present.

‘As we come together as a nation at cenotaphs all over the country this weekend, we should remember and honour all of those who have served: those named on memorials, those who lie in war graves and those who have never been found. Each and every one deserves our respect and gratitude, for without them we would not enjoy the freedoms we do today.’
